As all my readers know I absolutely love and trust the Palmers skincare brand for keeping my skin subtle and soft. So when the lovely people at palmers offered to send me a product from their Haircare range yo review I couldn’t wait to try it.
The product I recieved was the Coconut Oil Formula Cleansing conditioner Co-wssh with vitamin E.
My first impressions were that it was a good size at 473ml. I couldnt wait to try as the Co-wash is a non lathering shampoo alternative which is ideal for curly , natural hair and something I hadn’t used before.
On the first use I found the creamy conditioner like formula had a strong coconut smell that reminds me of holidays. I was a little sceptical about this being able to cleanse hair as it was so creamy as I thought it would leave my hair greasy after use but was pleasantly surprised. The directions for use tell you to use 12-20 pumps which seems a lot, I used 12 as my hair is short. After rubbing into your hair you add a little water to emulsify the product onto your scalp. The Co-wash is sulfate free so no lather is made whilst massaging into hair, which feels strange for a shampoo. After leaving the product on for a few minutes and rinsing my hair felt clean and soft with no build up as I expected due to the creamy formula. After blow drying my hair I was very pleased with the results as my hair was silky, soft, clean, shiny and smelling divine. This was all after the first use.
Benefits of using this range include:-
* Contains Pure Coconut Oil, Keratin and Vitamin E for stronger healthier hair.
* Free from Sulfates, detergents, lather, phthalate, petrolatum, mineral oil, gluten or dyes so it won’t strip chemically treated, dry damaged or fragile hair.
* It’s an All-in-1 product replacing shampoo, conditioner, hair mask treatment and can be used as a leave in conditioner.
* Ideal for frizzy, Curly, colour treated and natural hair types
My final verdict after a few weeks use.
I have found the Palmers Co-wash to be a fabulous product to use for hair that is in need of some rescuing. I myself found it made my hair smoother and silkier immediately and I would certainly recommend trying it. I did miss the lather of a normal shampoo though so would alternate between the two. This shampoo alternative is one I would use when my hair feels it needs a lift rather than for regular use but that’s myself personally. However, the only negative I did find was that when trying the product as a leave in treatment it made looked greasy once dry.
